As part of the activities of the Consulting Office at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, and in coordination with several government departments and institutions, the office carried out a series of field operations to control rodents, insects, and stray dogs in several vital locations in Basra Governorate.
The work included termite control in several health clinics affiliated with the Basra Health Directorate, in addition to rodent control in the Umm Qasr North and South ports and Khor Al-Zubair, as well as termite control campaigns in some buildings within the University of Basra.
These efforts aim to reduce the spread of pests that negatively affect public health and facilities, and to promote a safe and healthy work and learning environment.
The Dean of the College of Agriculture emphasized that the college, through its specialized staff, strives to provide high-quality scientific and field services to government institutions and the local community, based on its role in serving the community and applying scientific research in the field.
He also explained that these operations are carried out using well-studied scientific methods and environmentally friendly materials, under the supervision of specialized technical teams to ensure the highest levels of efficiency.
